VISIT
ROSKILDE
Roskilde is perhaps more famous than Copenhagen.
This is due to the yearly music festival featuring international names.
Roskilde is turisticly known for ``the festival", ``Lejre",
``The Viking Ships".
THE VIKING SHIPS
Roskilde is at the bottom for a ``fjord", a river, in which ancient
viking ships have been found.
The viking age was active around 1000 years ago, where the cruel vikings
would conquoer and fight in Northern Europe, down to the Mediterranian,
way east to Russia, and as far west as Greenland and America.
LEJRE
Lejre is about 5 miles outside of Roskilde, and
is a center of experiment. The experiment shows how people lived ages
ago, very primitive.
By Lejre you will also find a beautiful park with a small castle,
Ledreborg. This place usually stage concerts of a more classical, pop, or
philamonic nature.
ROSKILDE FESTIVAL
The festival was originally an ambitious
project, which turned into a tradition. The festival is held at the end
of June, and usually with some rain. A few years ago eight youngsters
died due to mud.
ROSKILDE CHURCH
The church has the toombs with the DNA of many
previous kings and queens. Exciting to see if they've even been in family
when the DNA tests will be send to the laboratory.
The train takes tourists direct into Copenhagen
within 20 minutes.
