Everyone
visit the pedestrian street of Copenhagen.
SHOPPING
You will find little shops and big department stores like Magasin and Illum.
Also, Royal Copenhagen, Bing & Grøndahl.
FOOD
You will of course find McDonald, pizza restaurants, Chinese, and
similar dining places, but why not go down to the end of the
pedestrian street, and try out the local Danish “smørrebrød” – open face
sandwiches. They’re quite unique, and decorated for any
personal taste.
GOOD ADVICE:
If
you need cash money then DO NOT cash on the pedestrian street. Go
instead to Forex at the Central Train
Station and save a lot of money because of better rates.
In Denmark you use ``kroner"
as the basic currency. However, shops on the pedestrian street
often do accept Euro.
SIGHT SEEING
The Hellingånds Church is at the
middle of the long pedestrian street, At noon, 12 o’clock they provide a small service
followed by an organ piece played on the unique organ. The whole
ceremony last for 25 minutes, so do take the time to listen to the
organ and the word of God. All people of all religions are welcome.
By Gammel Torv
you will find the city court building. Close to this square you see
the Cathedral of Copenhagen.
By the fountain named Storkespringvandet,
which is actually not what it claims to be, you can get a clear
view of the government building of the administration area Denmark.
At the one end of the pedestrian street you will find the Copenhagen
Town Hall Square, and at the other end you will
find Kongens Nytorv
and Nyhavn (New Harbour) dining area. By this square, you
can see the building belonging to Jyllandsposten,
which insulted the Muhammedans of the
world. The Danish minister of State approved the insult, because he
could get some PR, and become famous. His name is Anders Fogh Rasmussen, and his son is Peter Fogh Rasmussen, who will probably join in his
fathers footsteps.
