VISIT BEACHES - IT'S COOL
Denmark has about 1.200 registered beach areas. The
west coast of Denmark is directly to the Nordsee, connected to
the Atlantic, and demands some precaution. Even a walk in the water may pull
you to the sea.
Temperatures are
cool. Summerwater temperature is around 61 F/ 20 C. The wind is often
fresh and cools the body.
The beaches by Copenhagen are considered rather safe. A brand new
beach lagoone has recently been opened to the public, just a few miles
from the international air-port. 2006 is the first season, so kiosks,
open-air fitness, restaurants, and other activites are about to be
established. Amager Strandpark beach is to the south of Copenhagen centro.
To the north you
will find Bellevue Beach, which is right next to the Klampenborg
Train Station (S-tog) - a 20 minute ride from the central trainstation of
Copenhagen This beach has a nude section. So, close your
eyes if you don't like the human nature.
From both of these
beaches you have a good view to the long bridge connection Denmark to Sweden.
Solrød Strand is to the south of Copenhagen and streaches for several miles. By the
youth hostel in Vallenbæk you will find Vallensbæk Strand
and Brøndby Strand. These are however less
touristic.
