smiles. The people are very friendly.
Beaches, and beaches. The Tsunami in December 2004 really created
a sad angle to turism of this administration area (country). The Tsunami
took 300 million lives. However, do be aware, that Portugal also experienced a strong tsunami in
1775 with casualties of 100.000 people. So, tsunamies may occur all over
the world.
BANGKOK
The capital city has
a famous floating market. It is often called the Venice of The East. Water was the creation of
the city, and canals link things together. With 11 million people it is a
busy city.
Wat Arun is the temple to visit as a turist.

Rice is the most
important dish. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Rice fields can be found in
the mid/central of the country.
Mountains to the North.
Fertile planes in the middle.
Not-so fertile level to the North East.
The beaches and islands to the South.
Religion plays a
major role in Thailand. Buddishm. Buddha is the icon of
respect, so - as a turist - please be respectful. Don't enter in shorts
or bikini. Wear proper clothing.
Traffical chaos
range all over. Take a train 700 kilometers for just 3 Euros or 4
dollars. Next to the tracks you will find markets. Therefore there are
speedlimits to the train travel, which enable you to watch and enjoy the
scenery.
Long tail boats can
take you up the rivers. Experince the fishing by hand, meaning no vast
industrial ships/trawlers. The food and cusine of Thailand is respected all over the world.
It is also possible to travel by a noise-less rowingboat. The
boats are covered, and you enjoy the ride in the shade of the little
shelter.
Some of the dishes
may be challanging to tourist. The whole fish - with head and all - is
served.
The flag is red, white and blue. Red for land,
white for Buddhism, and blue for monarchy. The thai-people consider the
monarch god-devined. In fact a tourist got 10 years of prison in 2007 for
having painted a beard on a picture of the monarch. He was lucky, because
he could have gotton a prison sentence of 70 years.
Meals and hotels are
cheap. Western goods cost the same as home.
Many beach restaurants to enjoy food.
